 All new drivers attempting the Class A road test on or after July 1, 2017 will have to successfully complete the mandatory entry-level training course before attempting their Class A Road Test. Class AZ holder are qualified to drive a tractor-trailer or combination of motor vehicle and towed vehicles where the towed vehicles exceed a total gross weight of 4,600 kilograms. Class A licence holders may also drive vehicles in Classes D, G, and A with condition (R). 

During the course of our training students will learn the skills required for a career as an AZ Commercial Driver. Our program covers the laws and procedures that regulate the trucking industry.

Upon completion of this program, our students are left with multiple outcomes which include:

– MTO Class A Driver’s License 
– MTO  Air Brake (Z) Endorsement 

– Certificate 

 Participants must have a valid Ontario class “G” license or greater to attend.

If you plan to upgrade your current Class “G” license to a higher class, you need the 12 hours air brake course. Excel Training Academy will supply a certified Air Brake Instructor that will conduct the 12 hour Ministry of Transportation approved Air Brake Endorsement Course.

At the conclusion of the course a 20 question written test will be administered, out of which 16 questions have to be cleared. Upon successful completion a practical examination will also be done on a tractor trailer unit. At the successful completion of the program a certificate will be granted that must be forwarded to the local driver test centre.

Upon completion Air Brake (Z) Endorsement Program, applicant will receive the certificate.  Present this envelope to a DriveTest Centre within 6 months to add the Z endorsement to your licence.

Persons with an Ontario Class DZ license are licensed to drive any DZ purpose vehicle and may operate any truck or motor vehicle combination exceeding 11,000 kg. The training provided in our school prepares an individual to pass the Ministry of Transportation Road Test and the Air Brake Endorsement (Z).
